Dr Smith- Update

As you may be aware, Dr Gary Smith has been on long term sick leave since March 2016. Although we are pleased to report that his health is now greatly improved, sadly he does not feel able to return to partnershipship duties , and will not be returning to the practice.

We all wish him well for the future.

Drs Ameet Deshpande and Georgina Williams.

LINK END SURGERY IS NOW TAKING ON NEW PATIENTS!

As Dr Rebecca Seldon has now joined us as a permanent salaried GP, we are delighted to announce that we have been able to re-open our books, and can now register new patients who are in our catchment area.

If you, or anyone you know, would like to come and join us- please call in and see us, and a member of the team will be able to help you with this simple process

We look forward to meeting you soon!

TEXT REMINDER SERVICE

We have now started a text reminder service for all appointments booked at Link End Surgery. Can you please update us with your current mobile telephone number to ensure you will receive a reminder of your appointment the day before. It will then give you the option to reply and cancel the appointment if you no longer need it. Thank-you!

FLU CLINIC!!!!

Its that time of year already! Our Flu clinic will be held on Saturday 7th October- please telephone reception to make an appointment if you are eligible for one. We will have mini-clinics in the following weeks if you cannot make this date..... If you do not want one this year please let us know, and we will mark it on your records!

Change to Link End Appointment System From 24th April 2017

We are changing our appointment system to benefit all patients registered at Link End Medical Practice.

From 24th April 2017 the reception team will ask you to give a brief outline of the issue you have.  This will help the reception team guide you to the most appropriate service for you.

You will be given a telephone appointment with our Clinical  Team who are able to do the following for you today;

  • Prescribe for you
  • Offer self-care and advice
  • Book a GP appointment for you today if appropriate

The clinical team will call you at a set time (within a 1 hr window) which we believe will be more convenient for some of our patients.

Link End staff have been working hard training on the new system and thank you for your patience.

FUNDRAISER

Our Patient participation group, the doctors and all of the staff at Link End Surgery would like to say a BIG thank you to everyone that kindly donated to our raffle and fundraising afternoon on June 24th, and also a BIG thank you to all of those that gave up their own time to help us!

We are delighted to say, that thanks to everyones efforts, we have managed to raise an amazing £4790! Therefore, the surgery can now purchase a much needed new e.c.g machine, and also other medical equipment that will benefit our patients!

A wonderful afternoon was had by all- and we hope to make it a regular, yearly occassion, when the community can come together(hopefully in the sunshine again!)

Thank-you, very much, once again!

From all at Link End Surgery Smile

Practice newsletter

The practice newsletter is available to download in the documents and leaflets section

Patient Participation Group

We are very keen to attract patients to join our Patient Participation Group. Please ask at reception if you would like more information about our Patient Participation Group or would like to join it.

Free NHS Healthchecks available

We are now offering free NHS Healthchecks to certain patients between 40 and 74. The purpose of this important check is to identify people who may be at risk of having a stroke or developing diabetes, heart disease or kidney disease. Patients who already have one of these conditions do not need a NHS Healthcheck as they are already being monitored. Please ask at reception if you would like to see whether you are eligible for an NHS Healthcheck or would like to make an appointment.

Free life-saving training available

Link End Surgery is teaming up with Heartstart Malvern to provide free resuscitation training, which includes the use of an automated defibrillator. The practical training takes less than two hours and is held locally. It is suitable for anyone over the age of 11 and no prior resuscitation knowledge or experience is needed. By the end of the training session you will have the skills which could help save a persons life.  For more information about the next training session, please visit the Heartstart Malvern website at www.heartstartmalvern.org.uk

Please help us support St. Richard's Hospice

Shuttersphere is a company that captures striking images of local areas and then gives back to the community in which they are taken. We have displayed some of their work in the waiting room. The profits from any of their work purchased here will be donated to St Richard's Hospice.

Named GPs

Medical Practices are now required to provide all their patients aged 75 years and over with a Named GP who will have overall responsibility for the care and support that our surgery provides to them. This does not prevent you from seeing any GP in the Practice as you currently do.

If you are one of our patients in this age group and would like to know who your named GP is please ask at Reception.

Online Access for Patients

Patients can now book appointments online, order prescriptions online, and have access to  their individual summary care records. Please ask at reception if you would like more information about our online services or would like to register for our online services.
